As an exception and for a change I offered living
fish today. The babies each got two Neon-fish. 013 was the most skilful
when catching them. The other snakes got bigger fish. The similis didn't really know what to do with them whereas the FB almost jumped into the waterbowl where he went hunting. 005 caught his fish without any difficulty but had to give the second one to his wife. (014) The tetrataenia was very succesfull, as well and caught 4 fish. |

I offered a regular meal today. The fish
they had the other day were only meant to be appetizers. 014's behavior
was really strange. She dared to eat a jumper! I hope that she enjoyed that
enough to start eating regularly again. |

problems here either. I fed them today and 014 refused once again. |

For some reason they all seem to think that this
is a good time for shedding their skin. 008 and 009 have taken off their
skin, too now. I had to help 009 and peel the skin off the tip of his tail. Besides that I prepared our three-week vacation today. My father agreed to feed the snakes while we are gone. He is not the most experienced snake keeper (actually he hardly knows anything about them) but he is not afraid of them and if necessary he'd touch them. Besides that i can be sure that he does exactly what I tell him to do with them.To make it easier for him I separated 015 and 017 from 016 and 018. I packed the food for each week in a seperate bag so that he only has to take them out of the freezer and put them in the terraria. (I have made a list on which wrote how many mice and fish go in each terrarium.) |

Summary of the most important things that happened
that my while I wasn't there that my father told me. Somehow 016 and 018 managed to get behind the cork plates on their wall. I used duck tape. The two snakes were sticking to that tape when my father found them. To get them off he had to use a sharp knife with which he cut them off little by little. I was shocked when he told me about this but on the other hand I was glad that he had been there to save them! I would have probably taken a knife, too. The first feeding on August 21st went prettys good, although 016 and 018 didn't feel like eating anything yet and 014 didn't take anything either. On August 31st my father offered food again and then, 016 and 018 decided to eat again and 014's appetite came back - she took two jumpers. While we were gone 010, 011, 012, 013, 015 and 017 shedded their skin. My father couldn't tell me the exact dates though. On September 7th I came back home, but not without stopping by at the reptile fair in Muenster. Somehow a couple of snakes must have slipped into my pocket there, because there are many more animals in my terraria now, then there were before I left...
