Smelt time! 004 ate five fishies, 005 wasn't hungry

008 shedded almost perfect - he just forgot the tip
of his tail. I removed this skin carefully. When looking in my terraria
in the evening I noticed that 004 was acting strange: Besides her increased
activity it seemed as if she couldn't move her head right or as if she had
difficulties keeping it still. Maybe this behavior has something to do with
her pregnancy? |

Directly after I came back from university today I
detected that 004's slight coordination-problem had changed to a severe disturbance
of her movements. Without any orientation 004 crawled around in her terrarium
and it appeared as if she wan't noticing her environment at all. Unfortunately
my vet has closed on wednesday afternoons so that I can only visit him tomorrow.
I'm not really sure what is wrong with my snake. The behavior could show
a problem in laying her eggs, but the disturbance of the movement of her
head rather indicate a lack of vitamin B. In the course of the evening 004's condition has worsened dramatically! She is hardly able to move through the terrarium. Most of the time she is spinning around herself quickly and turns her head so that she ends up laying on her back. She even crawles around on her back! All those signs speak for a vitamin B hypovitaminose. 004 is getting convulsions that practically catapult her through the terrarium! More than once she slammed against the glass walls of her home. I pray that I can take her to the vet tomorrow. |

004 survived the night! When seeing her alive this
morning I felt at least a little better. I hardly slept last night because
I kept listening whether she was still moving. Some time in the early morning
she stopped hitting her head against the glass. At the vet I got the following information: 004's behavior could have been caused by 1. meningitis which would lead to her death within the next couple of days. 2.by bacteria in her intestines the treatment of which would cause the death of her babies. With no treatment 004 and her babies would die. 3. a Vitamin B Hypovitaminose, that if treated in time and correctly would cure 004 and not affect her babies. My vet and I thought that the lack of Vitamin B was the most probable reason for 004's illness and that's why we started with the treatment. From today on I have to inject 0,1ml of a Vitamin B complex under 004's skin. |

004's condition has improved a little bit! She doens't have carmps anymore and doesn't exclusively move around on her back all the time. |
