European Garter Snake Association - EGSA

I want to introduce to you the European Garter Snake Association (EGSA).

The EGSA is a registered society that wants to support the exchange of information among like-minded hobbyists, gather and publish new knowledge of keeping and breeding garter snakes and find new friends for these wonderful snake.

Every three months the association publishes their magazine "The Garter Snake" (TGS) in which members but also other Thamnophis-keepers can publish articles about their experiences with keeping and breeding garter snakes, as well as reports on herpetological vacations p.e. that will then be read by a wide readership.

Once a year there is a two day members-reunion with interesting speeches and conversations where like-minded people meet and animals are being exchanged

If you are interested in keeping garter snakes you should use the possibility to getting further information on the EGSA. You can do so by visiting their homepage at www.egsa.de or come to the meetings at the reptile fairs at Hamm in spring an fall. Around 1 p.m. on the day of the fair all members of the EGSA that are visiting the fair come to the left upper corner of the amphitheater (if you come through the upper entrance). Usually some of the members wear t-shirts with an EGSA-imprint so you will easily recognize them. Guests are always welcome at the meetings.
